BREAKING: SARS operatives arrest Dino Melaye

Naijawapenews.blogspot.com

Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad Tuesday morning arrested embattled

lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district.

The lawmaker, according to reliable sources, was arrested by the SARS and

subsequently detained in a facility located opposite the old CBN junction along the

Area 1 Expressway.

The SARS detention facility is known for imprisoning hardened criminals arrested

for theft, murder, cultism and other criminal acts.

When the fiery lawmaker was contacted on phone by DAILY POST, he sounded

rattled, as background conversation suggested a struggle between himself and

some of the operatives, after which his mobile lines were switched off.

It would be recalled that initial attempts were made by the police to arrest Senator

Melaye after immigration officials disembarked him from a flight to Morocco on

Monday morning.

Following his release after three hours detention at the immigration office at the

airport, the lawmaker’s house was besieged by over 80 armed policemen from

yesterday until the early hours of Tuesday.

This since-removed profile of the suspect includes a post making anti-women references.

In the hours after the attack, an unverified Facebook profile for the suspect emerged referring to the anonymous online forum 4chan, which is often the source of online hate and hoaxes. A Facebook employee speaking on background later confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the since-removed profile for the suspect was real. The post featured a reference to “The Incel Rebellion.” The word “Incel” stands for “involuntary celibate,” which is an online community of men who are sexually frustrated and often channel that frustration into anti-woman hate. The Facebook employee told BuzzFeed that message was posted shortly before they removed the profile.Reddit banned the Incel community from its website last year after updating its policy to ban glorification and incitement of violence. The chat board frequently advocated for sexual violence and hate against women. He also referenced Elliot Rodger, who killed six people in 2014 near the University of California at Santa Barbara. Rodger, who killed himself, wrote an anti-woman manifesto, saying he lived an "existence of loneliness, rejection and unfulfilled desires all because girls have never been attracted to me."

A LinkedIn account for someone with the same name identifies Minassian as a student at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario, beginning in 2011.

Following Monday's attack, the president of Seneca College, David Agnew, tweeted that the school "is monitoring the tragic incident," noting that members of the community are "heavy users" of the north Toronto transit hub where the attack took place.

@SenecaCollege is monitoring the tragic incident at Yonge & Finch today - our community is a heavy user of that public transit hub. Our thoughts are with all affected.
BuzzFeed News contacted Seneca College for more information but has not yet received a response.

It appears that Minassian was enrolled with Seneca’s Centre for Development of Open Technology (CDOT), which focuses on developing open-source software.

Multiple projects at Seneca's CDOT, dated from 2013 to 2018, listed Minassian as a team member. Those projects included a Google Play app called Toronto Green Parking Advisor, which was launched in 2014 and is described as a way "to search for parking locations in Toronto near a given address." Minassian also appears to have worked on an open-source software project at the school titled "Mobile Medical Device Integration," which is described as "a personal health record system which was created to give patients the freedom to see their medical records."A former classmate, Joseph Pham, told BuzzFeed News he did a programming course at Seneca College with Minassian."He was slightly awkward," said Pham, noting that Minassian usually "kept to himself but participated in class lectures.""There was no sign of aggression or hatred towards anybody. In fact, he was quite intelligent. He always had good questions to ask our professor and seemed to do well on his assignments," said Pham, a third-year student.A classmate of Minassian's at Seneca College, who asked to remain anonymous, told BuzzFeed News that the suspect "was just a weird and awkward person. But extremely smart." Still, the classmate said he "couldn't imagine him doing something like this." "He was extremely bright, and I presumed had a bright future ahead of him due to his immense amount of experience," the student said. "He was easily one of the best students in the class I had him in."The classmate said that Minassian had sent him a message on April 19, after completing the last course needed to graduate. "Finally finished college. Fuck you all and good riddance," Minassian wrote, according to the classmate. The student said that the program he and Minassian were enrolled in usually takes between three and four years to complete, but said he believed that the suspect had been at the school since 2011 because he had switched programs and was working full-time as a software developer.

Tara, who said she was a classmate of Minassian's in primary school, told BuzzFeed News that as a child he often had outbursts, tantrums, and other behavioral problems.

Tara said that she and her twin sister, Shannon, attended school with Minassian from day care until they were about 10 years old. BuzzFeed News is withholding their last name.
"He had tantrums all the time and would hit people," she said, recalling his behavior at Sixteenth Avenue Public School in Richmond Hill, Ontario. "He had a lot of behavioral issues and had someone there with him making sure he wouldn't get into trouble."
Still, Tara said her friends and other former classmates were stunned by Monday's incident, and "freaked out when we saw it was him." Tara confirmed that Minassian studied at Seneca College, though she says she lost touch with him after their fifth year in primary school.
"He was an angry kid," she said. "But you still never believe this could happen."

Lawmaker condemns death of six at APC meeting

Lawmaker condemns death of six at APC meeting

The lawmaker representing Ogbadibo, Okpokwu and Ado Federal Constituencies in

the House of Assembly, Hassan Saleh, has described the death of six persons at an

All Progressives Congress (APC) meeting in Benue State as barbaric, criminal and

undemocratic.

A statement by Saleh at the weekend blamed the violence on an aspirant for the

state chairmanship, who he said was being imposed by some forces outside the

zone.

The statement reads: “We came to Otukpo for the meeting to discuss issues

concerning the upcoming APC congresses from ward to the National level, as well

as the resolution of the NEC.

“I came with the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh; former Senate President

Ameh Ebute; Chief Mike Onoja and some other stakeholders.

“When we arrived, the meeting was on and the hall was filled with thugs. Those

invited to the meeting were not allowed to express themselves freely because of

heckling from the thugs.

“The Zonal Chairman yielded the floor to Ogbeh and Senator Ebuteh, and in their

speeches, they cautioned the party against imposing candidates, but to ensure that

congresses were held at various stages and whoever wanted to contest for any

position should be allowed to do so.

“The two elders were shouted down; the meeting ended in chaos and we left the

venue. But to our shock, we heard news that the about 150 thugs engaged each

other in a free-for -all fight over money. There were reports of the use of dangerous

weapons, while gun shots were fired freely.”

According to Hon. Saleh, those behind the violence are becoming desperate in their

desire to maintain a stronghold on the party machinery. But he said the plot will

not work as the people were tired of aspirants being sponsored by some forces.

He urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Department of State Services

(DSS) and other security agencies to investigate the violence and prosecute the

perpetrators.

Ghana’s ex-leader, Jerry Rawlings denies supporting Buhari’s comment on Nigerian

youths

The last is yet to be heard of President Muhammadu Buhari’s much-

criticized comment on Nigerian youths in London as a former

president of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings, has distanced himself from the

controversial statement about Nigerian youths’ purported sense of

entitlement.

Buhari, while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in

London last week, had said most Nigerian youths want everything

The ex-Ghanaian strong man, who spoke in reaction to some

all trending tweets accusing him of supporting Buhari’s London

illegation about Nigerian youths, disclosed that some persons were

trying to use his name to further their political interest.

This was contained in a statement signed by Kobina Andoh

Amoakwa of Communications Directorate of the former Ghanaian

president, who made it clear that Rawlings had made no comment

or issued a statement on Buhari’s much-criticised comment.

The statement added that any comments to that effect that he was

in support of Buhari’s comment and purported to have come from

him were false.
